Change Your World: Outreach to Rifle Range

Hey there!

I hope you have been challenged to change YOUR world after the CYW Tour last week. Now, it is time to put your faith and love into action. We will be going out to Rifle Range to distribute the food that we have collected during the CYW Tour. Details of this event are as follows:

Outreach to Rifle Range

Date: Monday, 30 November 2009

Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Venue: Meet at House of Hope

We will split into small groups and visit the various homes to distribute food, help to clean windows and wipe floors and just fellowship with the families that we visit. As such, do dress appropriately (Girls may want to wear long pants) and bring some old rags. Most of all, come prepared to be a blessing for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ! ;) We are also still trying to raise more food items to be given away to the homes and as such, I would like to continue to encourage everyone to contribute more to this cause. You can bring any (or all!) of the following:

1. 5 kg of rice
2. Milo
3. Sugar
4. Canned food (No pork or beef)

You can pass the groceries to me on Sunday or Monday during the outreach. Do let me know if you will be joining the outreach and if you need transportation. Do also invite your friends to be part of this outreach! See you there! God bless!

Yuletide Happenings

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." - Luke 2:14

These were the words declared by the company of heavenly host at the birth of Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, the Son of God. He came down from heaven to earth so that we may have life and life abundantly to the glory of His name. What a great privilege that we are all called and adopted into His family by His amazing grace and mercy.

Christmas is just around the corner and we have a few events lined up this year. Here are some of the events that will be taking place:

Gift Wrapping Demonstration
Date: Saturday & Sunday, 5 - 6 December 2009
Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm (both days)
Venue: FPBC Kindy Room

Bro. William Chai, the demonstrator, has requested everyone to bring 3 gifts for wrapping. The gifts can be in varying shapes and sizes. He will demonstrate to us how to wrap each gift and then give us the opportunity to wrap the other gifts we bring. To enable him to know how much materials, he has to bring for the demonstration, the organizing team would appreciate if you could indicate your attendance and as such, please inform Yin Hooi if you are interested to learn.

Christmas Celebration @ Penang Times Square
Date: Sunday, 20 December 2009
Time: 6:00pm
Venue: Penang Times Square

The Youth Ministry has been invited to be part of the performing choir on that evening. There will be 3 practices in and the practices will be held on 6, 13 and 19 December 2009 at FPBC from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Please inform Yin Hooi if you would like to be in the choir.

FPBC Christmas Celebration with the Community
Date: Sunday, 28 December 2009
Time: 7:00pm
Venue: Tanjung Bungah Community Hall (Above Tanjung Bungah Market)


Kelvin Soh, a Chinese gospel recording artiste from Singapore to be our main performer for the evening. As such, the Youth Ministry will not need to put up a skit this year. However, we will still be involved in performing the opening act, which is a dance/ processional (Think last Christmas). Those who are interested to participate in the dance can register with Elizabeth Spoelman.

THE RICH YOUNG MAN

16Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"

17"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."

18"Which ones?" the man inquired.

Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, 19honor your father and mother,'[d] and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'[e]"

20"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"

21Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

Well what I wanted to update is about this young man .... first this guy have kept the commandments from young and Jesus who is all powerful would have said he was lying if he was ...after keeping him self pure he went to Jesus and ask him what else must he do to earn eternal life ?? this amazed me

I can say everyone of us have at least broken one of this commandments once ... yet this guy did not even break it from young till then !! and more over he asks for more ... he ask whats next !! he asks whats the next stage ?? he wants to upgrade him self to a more better level ...

CAN WE DO THAT TOO ?? ASK GOD WHATS NEXT FOR US TO FOLLOW OR ARE WE JUST HAPPY WITH WHERE WE ARE ?? OR ARE WE SCARED THAT IT WILL BE TOO HARD ??

Time: 7:30pm onwards

It's gonna be a wet evening so please bring extra change of clothes and please inform your parents (so that I won't get in trouble when you go home wet!) We are having potbless dinner so please confirm with Aunty Cindy or James on what you will be bringing. If you really can't bring anything, don't worry, just come anyways! Friends are welcomed!

Help Needed

Most of you should know by now that some of the married couples from our church will be renewing their wedding vows / walking down the aisle, whatever-you-call-it-go-figure-and-fill-in-the-blanks-yourself this Saturday and for that, we will be jazzing up the interior of the church building! We will need all the hands and feet that we get to help out with the decoration. We earlier announced that this will be on Friday but please note that it has been brought forward. If you are free on Thursday, 20 August from 7:30pm onwards, do come and join us and help out with the work. Your reward for all the hard work? Well, you'll get to watch history in making as this is the first time we are conducting such an event (as far as I am concerned anyways). And hey, how many weddings have you been to that does not require you or your parents to bring any gifts? :0)

P/S: Just so you know, you can still attend the wedding even if you don't help out on Thursday and NO, I am not joking when i said that you don't have to bring gifts. You seriously don't have to bring any (by the request of the couples).

PenHOP and FPBC Prayer Meeting

Okay.. the poster said it all.. I would like to encourage all to come for this meeting, as you will definitely see the hand of God move through our prayers.. We combine worship, prayer and intercession at the same time.. If you're curious of how to do it, this will be the time.. If you're not curious, still come.. No harm right?..

There will be a team of intercessors from Korea coming to pray with us.. As you come, do expect God and God only.. For He is the One who is gonna do EVERYTHING!!

Combined Home Group Meeting
