Youth Group Meeting

This Friday, the 17th of July, there will be no regular home group meeting. Instead, all are invited to gather at the Spoelman house at 6:30 for Rachel's birthday party. The theme of the party this year is Dominoes. Because of this theme, if possible, please come dressed in black and white, or whatever outfit you can come up with which most nearly resembles a domino. There will be a prize for whoever comes up with the domino-themed outfit that gathers the most votes...

Bowling Night

Not long ago, we had a bowling night to celebrate those who had birthdays in recent months.
Here are the birthday people!
I think Lizzy is very excited about a chance to go bowling.

Everyone is either waiting their turn or playing spectator as Jessica bowls.
How many pins did you knock down, Rusy?
Lizzy is pretty sure that she has the winning bowling ball.

Happy faces!
And a good time was had by all...

Apologies

Message to all readers/ followers of the Fettes Park Baptist Youth Ministry blog:

Please allow me to say "Thousand Apologies" to everyone for the lack of activity on the blog for the past 6 months. We have not had the time to update stuff and as such, the blog has been left dormant since New Year's Day (not withstanding some Chatbox activity, thanks to Suku). We will be doing some revamp on the blog so do check us out in the next couple of weeks time. God bless!

Countdown Fireworks at Gurney Plaza

It's the end of 2008 and the start of 2009. A new year. A new leaf. A new beginning.

Fix your eyes to the front. No looking back. No turning back.

2008 was a great year. 2009 will be greater. For our God is the greatest and He has GREAT plans. ^^

Chest out. Chin up. Be proud to be Christ's disciple.

Lets start well. Do well. End well.

(P.S. I just love fireworks~)

Have you been WHY-ed ? DAY 1

On the 26th to 29th of November 2008 we had a combined youth camp with HBC. We gathered outside HBC early in the morn. There were 48 people in total attending the camp.

DAY 1
Tanjung Bunga

Hanging outside HBC while we waited for the bus to arrive. Everyone was still quite sleepy and afraid to get eaten by each other.

Emo-ing before heading for the camp ... 4 days 3 nights without my favourite blankey and pillow. *Cries*
David T: Sigh ... crazy girls ... tsk tsk

Opps ... i guess they were actually praying ... XD

We took a group pic outside HBC before boarding the bus.

Dylan and Suku posing for a pic before heading for the bus.

Everyone ... smile at the camera~

But of course some pest made itself onto the bus but James got rid of it :P
Joseph made his way onto the bus somehow and went RARWWWWW. Very dangerous lah~
He came to send us off ~ ^^

It was a very long bus ride on a never ending road. The apek was so slow.

Ted and Rusy was sleeping most of the way there. Ki yup da~ But sleeping on a bus is dangerous as someone is about to find out.

Hahaha~ Eunice caught on camera~ Daniel is evil but innocent~ Thanks to evil Celine who took the pics~

Cameron Highlands

Chefoo Methodist. It's a very beautiful place !!! This place will be home for the next 3 more days.

Daniel giving a speech on the camp rules and schedule. It was very boring~

This is Kenny a.k.a Ah Po. He's our Programs Coordinator for the camp. His games borders on 'genius' and 'evil' as we are soon to find out.

Some Icebreakers

This is called the siamese twins ... apparently the butt sticks to each other. Any butts twinkling?

Getting to know you~

The 1st time i went over for gathering at HBC they asked us to throw our shoes into the middle. Memory was a bit fuzzy but i think we had to fight for our lives to get a pair of shoes. It was fun. Lol. It's a HBC thing.
Everyone threw a shoe into the middle and had to walk in circle while the music is playing and when it stops they had to grab the closest shoe and it mustn't be the same one as they were wearing on 1 leg.

A forfeit. But they seemed to enjoy doing the Tango together.

The Groups

Clockwise from the upper left : Water, Fire, Wind and Earth.

The teams faced off against each other in a rather cool game. Each team bomb-ed another team continuously and the team that fails to do so loses.

Wrestling...

... for shoes !!!

Evening Free TIME
During evening we had a lot of free time .... bout an hour or so to bath and rest. Mostly though we played basketball even though it was raining and freezing cold.

Night Session

We had a short game where we would put questions which begins with WHY into a bucket and in another bucket would contain answers that starts with because. Most people asked "Why am I here?" Which was also the sermon topic for the night.

This is pastor Andy. He's a really awesome Youth Pastor. Not to mention cool, handsome and taken(married). His sermons are very down to earth and he keeps it real. The topic for the night was "Why am I here?" So why are YOU here ? ^^

A lot of campers ... in fact ... I think everyone went up to be prayed for. It was absolutely amazing. The presence of God was there as Ps. Andy, his team and some of the leaders prayed over the youth.
