What's Cooking?

As usual we celebrated birthdays for those born in the month last month(September). This time it was Arthur's.

This is not Arthur.

His name is Dylan and he just recently joined our youth group. He's from South Africa. He's really cool and loves to play games. We wanna warmly welcome you to our lil group here.

Now THIS is Arthur.

We had lots of good food and good fun that night. How many of you have watched Iron Chef? Tonight reminded me somewhat of the show Iron Chef where the chefs compete using a special ingredient chosen by the host to see who can best prepare that particular ingredient.

The group was separated into 2 teams competing in 3 games. Each game had it's purpose. The teams played for their ingredients. The winning team receives additional ingredients while the losers ... face their defeat.

And the special ingredient for the night is .............

.......MAGGI MEE !!!!!

UNO-STACK-O~

Our 1st game of the night involved cards. How many of you have played UNO before? I bet almost anyone would recognize the game almost immediately. There are all sorts of different rules for the game. It's a classic.

BUT ....... that's not what we're playing tonight.

Our game involves stacking UNO cards. The team with the highest 'building' wins.

The main event begins. Both teams put in their effort into building a strong base.

As discussions went on as the time ticks away ...

The buildings were artistically re-designed and re-built over and over again.

And finally the losers were had to face their defeat with a forfeit.

BALLOON, BALLOONS AND MORE BALLOONS !!

What can you do with balloons? It's a very interesting question to ponder about as we look into the following possibilities.

We can colour our hands with a balloon.

We can ... worship a balloon.

We can even strum a balloon.

But those aren't really much useful now, are they?

Pose behind a balloon?

Maybe.

Have fun with a balloon? Woo. Ted seems excited~

You can even do the SLAM DUNK !!

Never underestimate the many things you can do with a balloon.

But the most obvious answer is to just go wild ...

... and burst the balloon !!

ROCK, PAPERS, SCISSORS

What is this? It shall be explained in the following compilation of pictures. This was the next game we played. It's simple. It's easy. And it's fun. You just play Rock, Papers, Scissors and if you lose, you EAT. How convenient is that? It's great.

COOKING LESSON 101

Our lady chefs hard at work boiling water and slicing sausages.

Ted showed off his world-class chopping skills. They came in all shapes and sizes. XD

Rusy: Did he just take a picture of me stealing food. Must ... destroy ... evidence ...
Ted: While nobody is looking ... hee hee hee.

It was a fun time working in the kitchen. Not to mention the fun experience cooking in church kitchen. I never knew the stove actually worked. XD

While the chefs were away the mice ... i mean the rest of them were busy playing UNO. Bang !!

Chef I-Mei and Chef Rusy presenting their masterpiece, Tom Yam Maggi Mee.

Chef Ted and Chef Suku presenting their masterpiece, Curry Maggi Mee.

We ate and we survived. So that was good. Yup.

Our birthday boy of the month, Arthur. Happy Birthday, Arthur. And that's a delicious Chocolate Cheesecake he is holding.

It was an awesome end to an awesome night. It was definitely a very fun time for all of us.
